Journalist
Maya Homan covers Georgia politics and elections for USA TODAY and the USA TODAY Network's three Georgia-based papers, the Savannah Morning News, the Augusta Chronicle and the Athens Banner-Herald. She recently graduated from Northeastern University, and before joining USA TODAY, she spent two years at the Boston Globe covering breaking news, arts and features. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including the Boston Globe, Globe Magazine, Boston.com, Eater, the Palo Alto Weekly and The Scope. In 2021, she was named as a regional finalist for the Society of Professional Journalists' Mark of Excellence Awards for General News Reporting, and her reporting on Boston’s MBTA system was recognized with a 2022 Journalism Excellence Award from the Asian American Journalists Association. She enjoys investigating overlooked issues and bringing them to light.
